Please watch the following videos in order to be prepared for class on Thursday, September 7th. :)
LEQ: How do we graph equations using intercepts?
|
Today, the students took a test on functions. We will review the tests tomorrow & begin the next section on Thursday, September 7th (Linear Functions & Slope).
Please watch the following videos in order to be prepared for class on Thursday, September 7th. :) LEQ: How do we graph equations using intercepts?
LEQ: How do you write an equation of a line using point-slope form?

Today we worked on the Functions Study Guide in class. Students should prepared for a short quiz on Interval Notation at the beginning of class tomorrow. Our test on functions will be postponed until Tuesday, September 5th.
I will check the Interval Notation practice, Functions Circuit Training, and Functions Study Guide tomorrow in class. :)
Good Afternoon! Here is the video for tomorrow's class, Tuesday, August 29th. We will be covering intervals of increase & decrease, relative extrema, and minima & maxima. There are two LEQ's for tonight's notes, please structure your notes accordingly.
LEQ: How do you identify increasing & decreasing intervals and minima & maxima of a function?
LEQ: How do you identify functions as having even symmetry, odd symmetry, or neither?
There are MANY examples of even/odd/neither symmetry in the video. Please be sure to sketch at least three examples of each. I have a shortcut for identifying functions as even/odd/neither algebraically that I will share with you tomorrow. Leave a few inches of space at the end of your Cornell Notes for it! :) Today we took a quiz on the prerequisite skills necessary to be successful in the class! Your grades are already in the portal, and you'll have some time in class on Monday to look at your test & answer sheet.
Students in Pre-Calculus should have already watched the video, "What is a Function?" If you haven't, be sure to watch & take Cornell Notes in order to be prepared for Monday's class. Students in AP Calculus & Honors Calculus: We'll a little some time on a few of today's prerequisite topics. (no Cornell Notes this weekend!)
Below is the video you will need to watch for August 24th, 2017. It covers function basics. Please be sure to include the non-example of a function that takes place in the video around the 1:00 minute mark.
Remember, we will have a quiz on the topics we have covered so far this Friday, August 25th. Below is the Exponents Writing Assignment from last Friday (8/18/2017). I am giving you one extra day to complete this and any other missing Cornell Notes or assignments. Please remember that per the class syllabus, I do NOT collect late work unless you are absent.
There is no notes video tonight -- we will introduce 1.1 Graphs & Graphing Utilities in class tomorrow. Happy Friday! Here is the video you will need to take notes on for Monday, August 21st I will post more videos this weekend so that you can begin working ahead for next week. (click the links below to access the videos!)
LEQ: How do you add, subtract, and multiply radicals? https://youtu.be/oqexEBWJM_g LEQ: How do you divide radicals & rationalize denominators of radicals? https://youtu.be/4ajHeZf0fRU
Today we will be taking Cornell Notes in class using the videos below.
LEQ: How do we simplify expressions using the laws of exponents?
Below you'll find an LEQ & sample video. We will watch the video together in class on August 11th and complete Cornell Notes together to give you an idea of what to expect throughout the year.
LEQ: How do we find the standard form equation of a circle?
Here's a brief introductory video that summarizes the concept of a flipped classroom. Tonight, your child will be bringing home a letter that will detail exactly how my flipped classroom is structured. Please be sure to review the information, sign the letter, and send it back to school with your child on Monday.
