Today students practiced solving inequalities. For homework, they should complete any odd problems that they didn’t finish in class. The solutions to the problems are in the images below so that students can check their work. Please keep in mind that all steps must be shown in order for students to earn credit.
Due to testing disruptions, I will collect last nights homeork (p.21 #1-6) as well as the odds from the Solving Inequalities Assignment on Monday, October 2nd. Its been a busy few days! On Wednesday, September 27th, students completed practice problems pp.11-12 #1-3 and #6-10. Including homework from the other night, they should be completely finished with pp. 11-12. The key to those pages is below: On Thursday, September 28th, we completed the M2L2 Warm-Up exercise and went through the three sample problems for M2L2. HW was p.21 #1-6.
Today we started Module 2, which covers the stock market. We completed Lesson 1 which covers expressions and equations. HW p.11 #4-5.
What a week! I hope everyone made it through Hurricane Irma safely.
After an extended break, students returned on Tuesday and reviewed/prepared for Module1, Test 2.We tested on Tuesday. Students have been working on a real world math project to budget for a car purchase (Thursday & Friday). We will wrap up the project (worth 50 Mastery points), and begin Module 2 on Tuesday, September 26th! Have a great weekend Hounds! Students had the option to either continue reviewing or to take the Module 1 test today. Below is the key to the test review sheet. Note that you need to adjust the scale on the graphs provided in order to properly graph the equations.
Please be sure to reference the study guide problems as well in order to be fully prepared for the test on Tuesday, September 12th! Have a great weekend and stay safe! :)
Today, the students took a test on functions. We will review the tests tomorrow & begin the next section on Thursday, September 7th (Linear Functions & Slope).
Please watch the following videos in order to be prepared for class on Thursday, September 7th. :) LEQ: How do we graph equations using intercepts?
LEQ: How do you write an equation of a line using point-slope form?
Hey guys! This video will explain how to find limits at any value "c," using algebra. You don't need to take notes on this video, as every type of example (and rules for each) are outlined in your spiral lecture notes. Please watch this in order to be prepared for the lesson on September 6th, 2017.
Today we practiced graphing systems of equations. Homework tonight is to finish the worksheet. In class tomorrow, we will review for the next test.
As a reminder, here are the practice problems to focus on in the workbook. They are worked out in detail in the posts below (see: Module 1 Study Guide) 1.7 p. 65 #1, 3, 5, 7 1.9 p.95 #1-5 (be able to analyze rate of change from both a table and a graph & interpret results) 1.13 p.131 #1, 3, 10; p. 132 #6, 7 Previous Study Guide Q’s (included on 09/08/2017 test) 1.1 page 11 #2, 5; page 12 #8 1.2 page 19 #1, 3 1.3 page 27 #4; page 28 #6, 7 1.4 page 36 #2, 3, 5; page 37 #6, #8-10 (be able to graph the equation, identify independent and dependent variables, and identify the rate of change and its meaning) 1.6 page 55 #1, 3, 5
Here is the video for Tuesday, September 5th. You do not need to take Cornell Notes for this video. :) Have a great long weekend!
